Forming part of the Corporate Services Department, this position contributes to the organisations goals by being an active leader of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children.
Council currently has a position available for a Group Leader within its organisational structure. Reporting to the Director of Gwydir Daycare & Preschool, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing a consistent, nurturing, caring, happy, secure, creative and active environment for all children at Gwydir Day Care and Preschool as well as working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of Gwydir Day Care and Preschool’s operations.
It is essential that the successful applicant is 18 years of age or older and has a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), a current First Aid Certificate as well as a current Working with Children Check number and experience working with young children in a group setting.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017 – from Band 2 Level 1 Grade 9 Step 1 $1,120.15 to Band 2 Level 2 Grade 10 Step 3 $1,236.75 per 38hr week with grading dependent upon level of experience and qualifications. Flexibility around core hours of work can be discussed.
